What Can We Learn from Indiana?
(Or, What if PA Republicans Weren't in League with Big Labor?)
Lemoyne (2.2.12) – You might recall that CAP posted a blog in November about leadership in the Indiana House and Senate...well actually leading.
The Speaker of the Indiana House ran advertisements paid for by his own campaign account educating voters about Indiana’s environment of forced unionism. His effort paid off. Yesterday, Indiana became the nation’s 23rd Right to Work state, and the first of the rust belt states.
Respecting a worker's right to not join or finance a union as a condition of employment is widely accepted, even in Pennsylvania. A study conducted by the Manhattan Institute in September of 2011 found that 72 percent of the Pennsylvania voters polled support enacting Right to Work legislation in the Commonwealth.
All we need now are elected officials willing to stand against big labor and fight to restore the right of free association to the people of the Commonwealth.
