CAP Is Expanding for Even Greater Success

HARRISBURG (10.01.11) Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania (CAP) Chairman John Kennedy today released the following statement on key personnel changes:

“CAP announces with great pride that Joe Sterns will be joining U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey’s staff as Central Pennsylvania Manager.   Joe’s departure is bittersweet.   Over the last 18 months, he was instrumental in building CAP into a strong force for free markets and reform; indeed, we’ll miss him.  CAP recognizes, however, that Joe will be a valuable asset to Sen. Toomey, who is one of our nation’s most effective champions of free market principles.

We are very pleased to announce that the role of Executive Director will be filled by Leo Knepper.   Leo  joins CAP after being the Pennsylvania state director for Heritage Action for America, the political affiliate of The Heritage Foundation. Leo is a lifelong Pennsylvania resident and longtime free-market activist. He has built grassroots networks to fight against abuses in Pennsylvania government, including the infamous midnight pay raise. His passion for good government and America’s founding principles is nonpareil.

CAP is also excited to announce that Jana Benscoter will be filling the newly created position of Development Director.  Jana has worked in journalism for more than a decade, during which she’s covered a broad range of topics, including local and state government, and political corruption. She won second place for investigative journalism in the North Carolina Press Association Winter Writer’s competition in 2007.

With the additions of Leo Knepper and Jana Benscoter, CAP is poised to continue its growth and success in advancing limited government, economic freedom, and personal responsibility.”
