Since the election in November, we have received questions about election integrity. People want to know what steps the General Assembly is taking to ensure that their vote counts and can have confidence in the election process. There were real problems with the 2020 election. However, there is a staggering amount of misunderstanding and misinformation circulating online, which has led to a lot of “noise” around election integrity.
The Pennsylvania House State Government Committee is digging deep into the Election Code. They are trying to learn what went wrong in 2020, why it went wrong, and what changes need to be made to the law to fix the problems.
Leo Knepper, CEO of Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania (CAP), sat down with the State Government Committee Chairman, Rep. Seth Grove (R-196). They discuss the 2020 election and the changes to statute and policy that led up to it. Rep. Grove reviews some of what his committee has learned so far and the House’s approach to correct some of the problems they’ve found.
